Présentation du workshop
"This workshop is an exploration of Afrofuturist practice as a means of giving life to ancient African systems of knowledge, using new media technologies such as virtual and augmented reality. This approach aims to harness new modes of storytelling to reconstruct the immersive, interactive, and non-linear elements of narrative present in many African cultural traditions. The goal is to interrogate the concept of Afrofuturist narrative as an organic extension of pre-colonial African narrative into the information age, and to discover the creative possibilities it offers in the evolving domain of new media. Participants will examine a variety of traditional African storytelling techniques and collaborate in the creation of an interactive virtual reality short film to explore how these techniques can play a role in shaping the future of storytelling."
